Privacy Policy
How we handle personal information on luckysilvercloud.com, written to be read rather than skimmed.
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how Lucky Silver Cloud (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you use luckysilvercloud.com.
We are an independent travel information website. We do not process bookings or payments, and we never ask for payment card details, passport numbers or government identifiers.
We handle personal information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This page is general information, not legal advice.
Information we collect
We aim to collect as little as possible. In practice that means:
- Newsletter details. If you subscribe, we collect the email address you provide and the date you subscribed.
- Contact enquiries. If you contact us, we collect your name, email address and whatever you choose to put in your message.
- Technical and usage data. Standard web data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed and time on site.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See the Cookies section below.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
How we use it
We use personal information to:
- send the newsletter you asked for, and nothing else you did not ask for;
- respond to your enquiries and corrections;
- understand which guides are useful so we can improve them;
- keep the site secure and functioning;
- meet our legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information. We do not share your email address with advertisers, accommodation providers or tour operators.
Affiliate links and third parties
At present, Lucky Silver Cloud does not operate an active affiliate or referral tracking system through this website. The site does not currently place affiliate cookies or record identifiers to attribute bookings to us.
Lucky Silver Cloud may in future introduce referral or affiliate links to relevant accommodation, tour and experience providers. If and when that happens, this policy will be updated to explain what those links do, what a partner website may set on your device when you click one, and how to opt out where possible — before the functionality goes live, not after.
We may use third-party services for site hosting and email delivery. Where a provider processes data on our behalf, we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate protections are in place.
Our current commercial position is described in full in our Affiliate Disclosure.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- confirm what personal information we hold about you;
- provide a copy of it;
- correct anything inaccurate or out of date;
- delete it, where we are not required to keep it;
- stop sending you email — every newsletter also has a one-click unsubscribe link.
Email privacy@luckysilvercloud.com and we will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Security and retention
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe, and enquiry correspondence for as long as needed to deal with the matter and any follow-up.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The “last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. Material changes will be highlighted on the site.
